Feliz Dia De Los Muertos

dia-de-los-muertos trick or treat elizabeth

Amidst the sea of sugar skulls (Calavera) and dancing skeletons….there is a meaning.

Behind the gothic dark symbolism is a beautiful celebration.

It is to honor, remember and celebrate those who have passed on.

Although today, many don the Calavera as a Halloween costume as it has become quite trendy outside of the original Mexican celebration. It is quite normal now to see multiple cultures with Calavera tattoos.

A beautiful celebration rich with traditions that is somehow lost on a youth that find skulls cool.

Both drawings drawn on my iPad Pro with my iPencil using the SketchClub app.
